Welcome Reception

The Welcome Reception will take place at the Wild Duck Restaurant in the Flamingo Hotel in Pula. Spend a joint evening with QoMEX attendees surrounded by a forest of eucalyptus enjoying the view of the beautiful beach of Santa Margherita di Pula. The following food and drinks will be served during the reception:

  • Alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks

  • Spritz (Italian cocktail)

  • Varied selection of cheese

  • Fish skewer in saffron batter

  • Prawn tails in kataifi crust

  • Almond crusted chicken nuggets

  • Shot glass of Caprino cheese cream and Pecorino cheese in spicy caramel

  • Vegetable tempura with soy dipping sauce

  • Cascà (cous cous dish typical of Carloforte)

  • Venere rice salad with seafood

  • Aubergine parmigiana served lukewarm

  • Devilled eggs

  • Small mozzarella balls with cherry tomatoes and basil emulsion

Excursion to Nora and Conference Banquet

All participants are cordially invited to participate to the excursion to the Ancient city of Nora, one of Sardinia’s most important archaeological sites, a prosperous city, Phoenician first, Carthaginian later, and finally a crucial Roman centre, a gem we have inherited after three thousand years. The excursion will last about one and a half hours.

The meeting will be at 17.45 at the Flamingo Hotel. At 18, the bus will depart for Nora. At 20, the bus will depart from Nora to the Flamingo Hotel and then to the Corte Noa for the Conference Banquet.

All participants are cordially invited to experience a special location for the Conference Banquet. The Corte Noa, 3 km from the centre of Pula, is a typical Campidanese house (Casa Campidanese), a place of tradition, fun, and meeting, which recalls traditional living styles.

Participants that will not participate to the excursion can take the bus to directly go to the Corte Noa from the Flamingo Hotel. The bus will depart from the Flamingo Hotel to the Corte Noa at about 20.15.

The dinner will be served at around 20.45.

The menu is the following:

Aperitif

  • Welcome cocktails – alcoholic and non-alcoholic

  • Typical Sardinian aperitif

  • Vermentino di Gallura (Sardinian white wine)

Appetizers

  • Sardinian ham, salami and cheese

  • Baked ricotta with sesame seeds and honey

  • Slice of Civraxiu (typical Sardinian bread) from Teulada served with jowl from Fonni and Mediterranean sauce

  • Poached sausage

  • Carasau (typical Sardinian bread) and vegetables strudel

  • Mussel soup Cagliaritana

  • Sweet and sour of fish

First course

  • Fregola (kind of pasta) with arselle (kind of clams)

  • Culurgiones (typical Sardinian dumpling) Ogliastrina

Main course

  • Sea bream filet Oristano’s vernaccia (Sardinian wine)

  • Seafood pie

  • Roasted piglet

  • Potatoes

Dessert

  • Lemon sorbet

  • Amaretto (Italian almond biscuit) semifreddo

During the banquet, we will also hold the awards ceremony and present the hosts of future QoMEX editions.
